What training is required to become a criminal investigator??

How long is CITP at FLETC??

To become a HSI special agent, special agent-trainees must pass both FLETC’s Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) and the Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Training (HSISAT). CITP is a 56-day program that provides HSI special agent trainees, as well as criminal investigators from other federal agencies, with an understanding of basic criminal investigative techniques.

What are the required courses for criminal justice??

To earn this degree, you must successfully complete:

  • 24 credits of prescribed courses
  • 3–4 credits of additional major requirements
  • 12 credits of additional upper-level criminal justice courses
  • 21 credits of supporting courses and related areas
  • 45 credits of General Education courses
  • A number of credits in elective courses dependent on the amount needed to reach 120 credits
