Frequently Asked Questions

How to design a training handout??

When to Deliver After a Presentation

  • Your handout would distract from, more than enhance, your presentation – rustling papers, reading ahead, etc.
  • You need the elements of suspense or surprise in your presentation (you don’t want to handout spoilers!)
  • The handout is more of a thank you gift than something that will help them absorb your information in real time

What are basics of dementia??

Dementia itself describes a set of symptoms (memory loss, confusion, judgment impairment, cognition challenges, etc.). Under the “umbrella” of dementia, there are many different types or forms of dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, making up over 60% of all dementia diagnoses.

What is the worst type of dementia??

“In general, for anybody with dementia, it’s just horrible — for the person and the caregivers,” says Dr. Shah. He explains that there has been limited research on which types of dementia consistently progress faster or more severely, so there is no objective standard of what might be the worst type of dementia.

How to become certified Alzheimer's and dementia trainer??

Regardless of your track you will need to:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a geriatric health care related field
  • Complete a 7-hour seminar through NCCDP (you do this BEFORE you apply!)
  • Complete your application
  • Commit to adhering to the Code of Ethics
  • Pay the associated fees
