This means more cash (usually a lot more), but buying a katana isn’t a thing were you should think about saving money.

How do you practice cutting with a katana??

Practice a basic iaido cut by sheathing the katana in its saya, or scabbard, and placing it through a belt, sash or belt loop on the left side of your hip. Position the sheathed sword so the blade will cut upward as you pull it from the scabbard.

What is the best way to practice kata in the gym??

Do the kata in water. But not above shoulder height. Water adds a unique kind of resistance, which provides a stimulating challenge for kata practice. Great for physical rehab too, as it eases the stress of your joints. Do the kata and pretend you’re “angry”. You’ll evetually dip into the limbic system (lizard brain) and actually become angry.
