How many credits do you need to become a PT in Ohio?
OH PTs need 24 credits and PTAs need 12 credits every two years. 2 credits of ethics/jurisprudence are required to be completed through the state module. The license renewal cycle for PTs ends January 31st even years and for PTAs ends January 31st odd years.
Where can I find free continuing education courses for physical therapists?
The folks at PTWebucation are offering a 3 hour continuing education course for free: Diabetes and the Implications for the Physical Therapist. While diabetes may not be the most exciting topic for PTs, I’m sure you would agree that it’s becoming more prevalent among our patient population.
Are online physical therapy courses approved in my state?
(APTA online courses are NOT approved in NV or OH) Whether you take online Physical Therapy courses or in-person courses, be sure to look for your state on the approved list for those courses. I’ve listed the top online CEU providers below and listed MedBridge first because I personally use them and enjoy taking their courses online.
Can I practice PT in another state if I live in Ohio?
If you reside in Ohio but would like to practice in another state that is a member of the PT Compact, you may choose to do so via the PT Compact privilege. Conversely, if you live in another state that is your home state and you want to practice in Ohio, the PT Compact privilege is now recognized by Ohio.
