Annual Respirator Training Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS1715 requires employers to train and fit-test employees who use respiratory protection on the job. This annual training gives you a chance to explain the importance of respiratory protection and give everyone a refresher course on properly using and caring for their equipment.
This program must include many topics, such as but not limited to: respirator selection, cleaning, storage, fit testing, medical evaluations, and worksite-specific training. Knowing when and how to wear the appropriate respiratory protection is an important line of defense against exposure to respiratory hazards.
It does not cover all of the training required under federal OSHA or State OSHA respiratory protection standards.
