Laboratory and Chemical Safety Training COurses Two types of training required for individuals working with chemicals: EH&S-Sponsored Training - Individuals working with hazardous materials must complete Laboratory Safety Fundamentals before beginning laboratory activities. Principal Investigators must complete Lab Safety for PI’s and Lab Supervisors upon hire.

Where can I get safety training at UCLA?

EH&S provides select general safety training courses online, in the classroom, and upon request for all of UCLA campus. You can access online training and sign up for classroom training by logging onto worksafe.ucla.edu.

Where is the UC Center for laboratory safety?

The Center operates under the oversight of the UC Center for Laboratory Safety Advisory Board with technical support from the UCLA Office of Environment, Health and Safety. UCLA provides walk-in services for patients requiring specimen collection, blood draws (phlebotomy), urine samples, and other laboratory services. Most lab tests performed are ordered for a patient by the patient's healthcare provider.
